Well done to Wikipedia for their strike action today.
I agree that they should not be involved in piracy, which they aren't, but to expect them to be responsible for the actions of all their posters is totally unreasonable.
America does NOT rule the world and someone needs to tell them.
Why should I be subject to US law?
Why should a website in Russia be subject to US law?
America needs to stop behaving like an Empire. Their values are not the best in the world. It is not the land of the free. It is not the land of opportunity. These benefits only exist if you are sponsored by parent,s friends or business or are lucky to be born privileged.
I could go on...
So, Wiki, well done for standing up for the world and common sense versus the good ole US of A.

Luddites
At last, after a two year consultation, the HS2 rail link has been approved pending a bill being officially passed in the Parliament.
As someone who lives on the route I have been surrounded for these two years by letters to the newspapers, campaigners, leaflets through the door all opposing this progress.
These are the same people who have four mobile phones in their household but object to having a mast near to them even though it is proven that smaller masts are less harmful so a small mast on each street corner would be the safest option.
These are the type of people who would have opposed the telephone or electricty as they saw them as unnecessary and useless.
These are possibly the descendants of those that objected to the first railways nearly two hundred years ago that dramatically opened up this country to commerce and leisure.
This new HS2 route is not merely about slashing ten minutes off a journey to London but allowing commuters and travellers to be able to get a seat on a service that currently only has cramped standing room available for the first hour of the journey if you travel anywhere near peak times. It is about opening up access to the North of the country allowing businesses to take advantage of lower rents and rates and bring jobs to other parts of the country rather than just the South East.
So come on moaners, stop trying to curb progress in England. I am heartily sick of being looked down on by our European cousins because of our Victoriam built rail system that cannot be run efficiently because it has reached capacity and is crumbling away.

The Head of our country?
David Cameron has yet again showed himself to be better suited to a Public School Common Room than as a representative of the United Kingdom if his recent behaviour in the House of Commons is anything to go by.
I agree with his comments that Ed Balls should not continually talk and should listen and that he is very off putting and rude, but to compare him to someone with Tourette's is frankly short sighted and arrogant.
Tourette's is an evil illness that those that suffer from it have been fighting for understanding for a long time. It is only in recent years that the majority of the population have come to hear of it and have sympathy for it mainly thanks to its' being highlighted in Drama and the News and so these sufferers have started to see less ridicule and hence less bullying.
David Cameron has turned back the time to when the mentally or physically afflicted can be the butt of jokes and can be used for our amusement and for this I am thoroughly ashamed and do not think he is fit to represent the Country, myself included, on the world stage.
Who will he disrespect next? Will we hear him imitating the deaf? Adopting the gait of a cripple? Using insulting language?
David go back to the playground where hopefully you will feel what it is like to be bullied only in your case it won't be for something you can't help but for who you have become!
